Top Spots For Your Austin Event

Learn more about Ticketbud & events in Austin

From concerts on 6th Street to tailgate parties on the UT campus to food & wine festivals along South Congress, Austinites know there’s never a shortage of great events to attend. Part of what makes Austin such a live event mecca is the plethora of beautiful, creative and downright odd spots and venues available to host those events. If you’re organizing an event of your own in Austin, it can be hard to nail down a part of the city let alone a specific venue to host your event. As an event ticketing company based in the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Ticketbud has helped host more than a few local events and we’ve compiled a  little list of our favorite event spots ATX has to offer.

University of Texas Campus

medium_3284045080 Hosting your event on UT’s campus will require a little more work in terms of applying and being approved for a space but the academic atmosphere and student buzz is worth it for the right event. The beautiful, sprawling 40 Acre campus is home to over 50,000 students and close to an engaged community of academics and intellectuals that can help spread the word about your event without spending a dime on advertising and marketing. The AT&T Conference Center, a nationally recognized venue perfect for professional events of all kinds, is another great spot just down the road from the campuses main quad. Event Ideas:
  • Speaker/Lecture Series
  • Conferences
  • Job & Internship Fairs

Fiesta Gardens

Away from downtown but not remotely located, Fiesta Gardens is perfect for smaller outdoor events and festivals where attendees can roam and wander to different booths and stages. The Gardens also has a huge covered pavilion with space for multiple stages or booths and some cool views of the water directly behind. Event Ideas:
  • Company parties/outings
  • Outdoor book club
  • Local food or music festival

6th Street/Rainey Street

medium_5587626086 Yes, this may seem a bit cliche but 6th Street & Rainey Street are not just great places for events after dark. While many of the bars don’t open till the sun sets, many others open a bit earlier and are great for a late afternoon happy hour style event. Molotov in the “West 6th” area and Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden on Rainey Street are two great places to reserve that give your guests a convenient place to meet as well as a great view of the city as night falls. Event Ideas:
  • Industry Happy Hours
  • Private Parties
  • Bar Crawls

Zilker Park

medium_4440184148 A classic. Zilker is famous for being the home of the Austin City Limits Music Festival but outside of those two weekends in October it’s a fantastic and often underrated place to host outdoor events of all kinds. While the park can get crowded on weekends, it’s sheer size offers a variety of spots to claim for your outing. With a beautiful view of downtown and it’s proximity to Town Lake, Zilker Park is the ideal free “venue” to give your event some fresh air. Event Ideas:
  • Crossfit, Yoga workshops and classes
  • Charity races and walks
  • Volleyball tournament
